David, the new king, acts as a priest by blessing and ministering to the congregation of Israel.
The basis for this joyful worship was particularly God’s rescuing His people from slavery and giving them the Promised Land, and the continuing righteous decisions God rendered for the benefit of His people and against those who had oppressed Israel.
An early church author said, “That is the true honor of His name, to look to it and call upon it for all consolation.”
Today, Christ has consecrated believers as priests in His kingdom to bless, thank, and praise God before the nations. He sustains you in this precious service with His very body and blood for the forgiveness of all your sins. We call this the priesthood of all believers.
