“However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him…” 1 Corinthians 2:9
The “what” are the miraculous acts of salvation in the Old Testament, which are now surpassed by the mystery and miracles of Jesus’ actions in the New Testament.
The “prepared” is past tense which means God has already provided these great things.
Only the Holy Spirit can reveal the truths of God. We could never have discovered the mysteries of God or the benefits of Christ’s death by ourselves. The message of the cross is simple, and the spiritual wisdom that comes with it touches every area of life and faith. But the Holy Spirit grants and leads us to such understanding only through the Gospel.
