“I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.” 1 Corinthians 1:10

With repetition, Paul emphasizes the main point of this Letter when he says “agree … no divisions … united in mind … united in thought”.

Not only did Paul encourage the Corinthians to speak the same thing and have external unity; he also urged them to be joined together in a unity of hearts and minds that expresses the unity of the one body of Christ. Paul pleaded for an outward expression that comes from an inward spirit.

Christian unity depends on faithfulness to Christ, not chasing one’s own agendas or ideas.

God’s blessings on your day…
