“It is written: “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’” Romans 14:11
In Isaiah 45:22, the Lord refutes the existence of other gods (“…for I am God, and there is no other.”) and in Philippians 2:11, Jesus is declared to be the Lord with similar words (“…every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord…)
The term “every knee” means that one day everyone will submit to God’s authority. He will judge all people before His great throne. Revelation 20:11–15, “I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne…the dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books…the lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.”
