“Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.” Galatians 6:1

“You who live by the Spirit” could possibly refer to congregational leaders; however, all Christians have the Spirit, not just a select or elite few. Paul is saying follow the Spirit’s leading by gently and humbly caring for the one who lapses into some sin.

The word “restore“ is in the context of putting back into a former condition.

“Watch yourselves” is a warning similar to a doctor ensuring he/she does not catch a disease from treating a patient.

Even though we have sins in our life, the grace of the Holy Spirit does not allow them to harm us. For we are in the Christian Church, where there is nothing but continuous, uninterrupted forgiveness of sin because of the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God’s blessings on your day…
