“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.” 1 Peter 2:2-3
As a newborn baby craves its mother’s milk, so Christians crave God’s nourishing Word. New converts may have a minimal knowledge of Christian teachings, but all Christians should strive to mature in their faith, which leads to the full blessings of salvation.
“Tasted that the Lord is good” is similar to a newborn baby being satisfied by their mother’s milk. Christians likewise find that God’s Word satisfies their deepest needs.
The purpose of studying God’s truth is not only to learn more, but to become mature in the faith.
