“You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.” Psalm 86:5

“Forgiving and good” is a common word pair in the Psalms, epitomizing the Lord’s care for His people.

“Call” means “to call upon,” “name,” or “summon.” “Call on God’s name” describes speaking God’s name in prayer or repentance.

This Psalm is ascribed to King David and points to God’s steadfast love as the reason why prayers are answered. Rather than feeling overwhelmed by the obstacles that confront us, keep the eyes of your faith focused upon the Lord, for He alone is God. Because of the Lord’s steadfast love, He cannot overlook or neglect His children. Their care and preservation is part of His very nature … He cannot and will not fail to act according to His mercy and grace.

God’s blessings on your day…
