“…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
The word “hope” entails a confident expectation or active hope in the Lord – never passive resignation. “Soar … run … walk” depict the spiritual transformation that faith brings to a person. The Lord gives power to those who trust in Him. Though the Lord may use His power for condemnation, He acts as your Good Shepherd for your salvation.
The eagle depicts the strength that comes from the Lord. The Lord describes His deliverance of the Israelites in Exodus 19:4 as similar to being lifted up on an eagle’s strong wings. In Psalm 103:5 the strength of people who are nourished by God is compared to the strength of the eagle.
God’s blessings on your day…
