“But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children – with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.” Psalm 103:17-18
“Lord’s love” is from a Hebrew word that means “loyalty” to one’s community; and, is the most common term for God’s grace in the Psalms (125 times). Martin Luther described this Hebrew word as “goodness in action” … God’s unwavering devotion to the salvation of His people finding its fulfillment in the cross of Christ.
“Everlasting to everlasting” is a description of God having no beginning and no end … God is not bound by time as we are. Eternity is in contrast with the brief and frail nature of human life.
“Keep His covenant” means to show faith in God’s redeeming forgiveness and love; while “obey his precepts” demonstrates an obedience to God’s commands that flows from faith.
God’s anger is for a moment; His loyal love is forever. His blessing is on those who keep faith with Him.
God’s blessings on your day…
