“If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.” Matthew 18:15
Jesus teaches His disciples about the process of restoring a believer who sins against you … “if your brother or sister sins (against you)” is the important context. The first step in this process of reconciliation is a loving personal confrontation.
After Jesus had earlier stressed the seriousness of sin, He warned against despising a little one, told the parable about seeking the lost sheep, and stated that His Father did not want a single little one to perish. The entire process that Jesus here describes must be carried out in humility with the sole goal of gaining your brother or sister in Christ.
God’s blessings on your day…
