“The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” Psalm 119:130
“Unfolding of Your words” implies that God’s Word is a doorway opening to the believer. It is the entrance (unfolding or unveiling) of the words of God that give light to our dark human souls, corrupted by sin.
“Understanding to the simple” is that which the human mind cannot comprehend by itself so must be comprehended through the aid of the Spirit of God. Psalm 19:7 also says, “The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.”
